Our fifth and sixth grade students employed a variety of problem-solving strategies to complete a series of 5 contests from November to March.

All of the students received certificates of participation. Eleven students earned Olympiad patches for scoring 9 or more points out of a possible 25. The fifth graders do the exact same problems as the sixth graders, so their accomplishment is very impressive.

Ian received the trophy for the highest score in fifth grade. In sixth grade the highest scorer is Hannah. Her score of 19 out of a possible 25 puts her in the top 10% of all participants so she received a silver Olympiad pin in addition to the trophy.

Congratulations to all the participants on a successful year of problem solving!

Microscopic organisms and wild life were among the biotic factors that students counted and recorded. We’re happy to report that our test results showed our brook continues to be in good health.
