Fur, Feathers and Scales
Posted by Janice ShannonOne of the educators from the Fairfield Audubon Center visited our class recently for a lesson on animals in the wild. Before she arrived, we made predictions about which animals she might bring with her for us to touch and observe. Guesses ranged from giraffes to cats and while neither of those were part of the visit, we were thrilled to see an owl, a rabbit, a salamander, a hissing cockroach and a tortoise up close. We learned that when wild animals visit our classroom it is important to be gentle and not too loud. Our parents will be excited to learn that we can visit our new friends, including that hissing cockroach, by going to the Audubon Center anytime we want!
