Sandy Calder
Posted by Janice ShannonWe had a wonderful time learning about the artist who made a circus out of wires. The children watched a video of the original show that Alexander “Sandy” Calder put on for audiences in France and in the United States in the 1940s. Each child made their own stabile to remember this great artist. They learned that Sandy and his wife Luisa loved to dance to the Big Band sound of that era. When we were studying Calder’s art we danced every morning to Glen Miller and enjoyed the sounds of trumpets and clarinets.
