All are welcome! 2025 CT COLT Poetry Recitation Contest - Virtual 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM view detailshide details Students will be joining this virtual Poetry Contest in school. The contest starts at 3:30pm, it will end around 5:30. The Poetry Contest is an annual event open to students in grades 7 through 12 whose teachers are members of CT COLT. Poetry slates are available in the following languages: Albanian, Ancient Greek, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin only), ESOL/ML, French, German, Italian, Latin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Our 7 & 8th Grade language students will choose one of the poems from their slates and recite the poems with other language learners. This is a great opportunity to share their language learning experience with other students from different schools in CT. |
MAR28 | Casual Day view detailshide details The last Friday of the month and a casual day! Students are allowed to attend school in clothing of their choice rather than the school dress code. Their appearance must still be neat and tidy - no torn or frayed clothing, mottos, slogans, or unsuitable lettering on t-shirts. Shirts must fully cover midriffs, and short skirts are not permitted. Usually, the last Friday of each month is a casual day for students. Other casual days are designated for special occasions. Life Worth Living 8th Grade Workshop 9:15 AM to 12:15 PM view detailshide details 8th graders are embarking on an 8-part ethics series inspired by the Life Worth Living program. On 2/21, 3/28, and 4/11, Dr. Matthew Croasmun, co-author of Life Worth Living: A Guide to What Matters Most, and Director of the Life Worth Living (LWL) Program at the Yale Center for Faith and Culture, will join us for morning workshops that explore what it means to live a purposeful and meaningful life.
