El Inca Chasqui!!!
Posted by Isabel TapiaThird graders are studying the Incan Empire in Spanish class. We had fun hearing Chasqui’s stories, who was an indigena (native Incan) during the time of colonialism. Through images we learned that the Inca Empire’s capital was Cusco. Students also learned what Chasqui eats, how he communicates with his friends using a pututo, how he helps his people, his feelings, etc. Furthermore, third graders practiced their knowledge and became aware of new concepts in the target language making connections with Chasqui and his interesting daily life.
