Hard to Keep on Track!
Posted by Faith BarbutoOn a cold day in December, the kindergarten class ventured to the Audubon to learn more about identifying animals by their tracks. First, the talented Ms. Colleen taught us a song she wrote about how animals move and then we played a game where we got to try out the different types of locomotion. We waddled, hopped, bounded and walked according to the animal that we landed on. Then we hit the trails, trying to find some real tracks to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of snow and frozen ground made that impossible! The irony of writing that is not lost on me, as I gaze out the window at the arctic tundra now covering our area! We learned some great tracking skills to use here at the Unquowa tracking station.
