The Weatherman Visits
Posted by Faith BarbutoRecently, the kindergarteners enjoyed a visit from the Stamford Nature Center to learn all about weather! Students had tons of fun while learning about tools used to measure weather. At one station, students played a game where they travelled through the water cycle as if they were a drop of rain. In another, they sorted objects, words and temperatures by seasons. Making cloud models using clay and cotton was a big hit as well as learning how to use a rain gauge. The station that really blew us away was the wind area. Here, students got to play with anemometers, wind vanes and pinwheels and even see a simulated tornado! The event culminated with students making their own snow – we were bubbling over with excitement as the snow bubbled over our containers. Here’s to sunny weather from here on in!
