Most days down in kindergarten end with the very important free-choice centers. During this time of day, children are free to play with most of the materials in the classroom and with whomever they choose. Activities include drawing, building, games and our most recent addition – yoga! We started trying some yoga videos when the weather just wouldn’t allow us to get outside and the kids like it so much they often ask to do it during free time. This is a crucial time for independant socialization. Students love to pick their own activities and as the teacher I gain valuable insights into the children during these unstructured times. Every day should end with smiles!
