Small Moment Creations

The first grade is currently working on designing sculptures in the makerspace based on the Small Moment (personal narrative) stories written in class. To prepare for our makerspace project, the first grade writers used planning strategies to first determine the big idea and small details of their Small Moment Story. Next, they wrote their piece in story form, along with supporting illustrations. The final step to their project came to life in the makerspace, where they chose the main idea from their story, designed directions and turned their main idea into a sculpture.
