Using Scarves
Posted by Megan KirkWhen we listen and move to music in movement class, sometimes students are asked to use scarves to help them express their thoughts. Today we listened to tribal music. Students first noticed the different instruments that were playing – we heard a lot of rhythm instruments! Kindergarteners quickly noticed it was VERY hard to sit still and listen to this energetic genre of music. Soon we were on our feet, using the scarves as tools to express the feelings this music gave us. After dancing, students quickly responded to their feelings. “I feel so happy!” “Can we do it again?” “This music makes me smile and feel good!”
