Busy In the Garden
Posted by Mary CurranIn September, PreK-4 students explored the garden and discovered a variety of late summer and fall flowers, vegetables, and herbs. They enjoyed smelling lavender by gently rubbing their fingers across the plants and identified the heart-shaped leaves of heirloom morning glories growing on the tepee. Students were thrilled to harvest sungold tomatoes, 2 varieties of carrots, and purple, green, and yellow wax beans. Carrots were delivered to Chef David and Chef Jessica and the carrot tops to Mrs. Shannon’s guinea pig. PreK-4 students were eager to sample tomatoes they picked and one delicious sweet pear harvested from our espalier pear tree!
