Recently, the fourth graders completed a writing project. Each student was given a brown paper bag and asked to find three items that were special to him or her and that would fit in the bags to bring to school. The objects varied from pictures of horses to meaningful presents they had received. Everyone composed an essay consisting of an introduction to get the reader interested, three body paragraphs going into deeper details about their objects, and a conclusion wrapping up their composition. After completing the written piece, the students read their essays to the class, and shared their items. We had a wonderful time getting to know more about each other!
