Recently the seventh graders studied cities. The focus was on why cities were founded where they are and what causes them to grow over time. Students then worked in groups to research and put together a presentation on the growth of Philadelphia and Boston. They focused on population and the geographical size and location of the city and used primary source documents including maps and census reports to gain information. The groups then presented their findings to the class using iPads and the Reflector app which reflected their presentation onto the Smart Board.
