Cuban Missile Crisis Simulation
Posted by Ariel WarshawTo cap off their understanding of our study of Cuba, 7th grade Humanities students participated in a virtual simulation with the International Spy Museum; they traveled back in time to 1962 during the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis!
The students embodied CIA all source analysts, and together evaluated, analyzed, and interpreted multiple sources of intelligence to counsel President Kennedy in how he should respond to the growing crisis. By looking at declassified telegrams, memorandums, and reconnaissance plane imagery, we were able to de-escalate the tension and save the world from nuclear war!
To celebrate our intelligence successes, we dined on a Cuban-inspired lunch menu: Cuban sandwich wraps, black beans and rice, and guava bread pudding.
