Connor Jacques ’20
Posted by Jacqui MudreConnor Jacques ’20, a senior at St. Joseph High School, was recently recognized for his achievements in cross country at his senior banquet. While he received several accolades, it was his heartfelt speech, delivered to the audience that particularly impressed his family. Reflecting on his journey, his family credits much of his confidence in public speaking to his experience at Unquowa, especially the eighth grade speech program, which helped him embrace opportunities to speak from the heart. Additionally, Connor’s decision to pursue cross country in high school was influenced by a suggestion from Unquowa’s P.E. teacher Sarah Pollex, who encouraged him to run in fifth grade despite his busy hockey schedule. This pivotal encouragement led Connor to shift his focus to running during his senior year, a decision that proved essential for his social and emotional growth as he prepares for college.
