Shopping at the Asian Market is fun!
Posted by Carina BlackwellOn Thursday, our 7th and 8th grade Mandarin students embarked on an exciting field trip to an Asian Market, where they had the opportunity to purchase ingredients for making dumplings. Divided into groups, the students worked collaboratively to locate all the items on their scavenger hunt list, which was themed around Chinese culture. This hands-on learning experience allowed them to explore a variety of snacks and foods available in the store, broadening their culinary horizons. Among the highlights of their adventure was the chance to try Boba tea (zhēn zhū nǎi chá), a beloved beverage in Asia. This field trip not only provided a fun and interactive way to engage with Mandarin language and culture but also created lasting memories for the students as they discovered new flavors and traditions.
