First Graders Travel to Outer Space
Posted by Maureen DialloOn Friday morning the first grade scientists traveled to the Discovery Museum to participate in a workshop entitled “Space Kids.” The class investigated how gravity affects toys used on Earth and compared their findings to what happened when astronauts tested the same toys at the International Space Station without gravity. The kids were able to make their own version of one of the toys tested which was a ball-and-cup. We also enjoyed a private planetarium screening that made us feel like we were part of the solar system! The class recharged with lunch and headed off to the museum galleries to explore all of the exciting things at the Discovery Museum. Our trip was out of this world!
