Posted by Katie BrennaFifth graders are in the process of mastering two of the building blocks of Spanish: subject pronouns and the verb ser (to be). To bring this topic to life and to allow students to exhibit their creativity and understanding of these concepts, each student was asked to construct a mobile. Although certain components were demanded of them (pronouns and verb forms), all other elements were left to the architect’s choosing. The result was twenty-four unique mobiles! A myriad of materials were utilized by student architects: plates, hangers, pipe cleaners, ribbon, felt, foam and clips to name a few. Even more varietal were the themes that the student architect’s used to unite all of their components together. Some student themes included: princes and princesses, the avengers, hockey players and actors from popular TV shows like Modern Family. Come check out our sea of mobiles!
