STEM meets STEaM!
Posted by Lloyd MitchellEighth grade students recently wrapped up their culminating unit on Robotics which has spanned the last four years in technology class. This year, students were faced with developing a robot from scratch with no building guides. They were tasked to use all the skills learned in the past few years to design the most durable and autonomous robot that could withstand the challenge of another robot. The process began with a design and development component integrating art into the STEM process. This year’s designs were nothing short of creative and sophisticated. One robot featured a ramp on the front of the robot that allowed it to clear a path in front of it. We even had a robot that was programmed to hop, a first in the six years of robotics here at Unquowa. Great job, eighth graders!
