A gift for me?!? Sixth graders recently gave and received gifts as part of their unit on shopping. After selecting a peer’s name from a hat, the buyer had to decide on where and what to buy his/her classmate. Once decided on the gift, the buyer had to sketch and describe the gift in Spanish. Students then took turns giving and receiving personalized gifts. Students not only practiced shopping vocabulary, but also learned how to appropriately comment on gifts and express gratitude.
