Raise Your Voice (without shouting)!
Posted by Alyson CahillIn Drama class, second graders recently worked on voice projection and how to be heard when performing onstage. We talked about different types of voices and played some games where we disguised our voices to sound like different characters. We also learned the difference between speaking loudly and shouting! In this exercise, students took turns crossing the room and stepping on bean bags placed on the floor. The bean bag closest to them was for a “stage whisper” voice, the one in the middle was for a “natural” clear voice, and the furthest bean bag was for a loud strong voice. They stepped on each bean bag saying “To Be Or Not To Be” at different volumes. Everyone had fun hearing each other use these different voices!
