“Hello How Are You?”
Posted by Megan KirkKindergartners learned our “hello” song today in music! After we learned the song, students sang it to one another to welcome each other to music class! We also learned a funny song called “Lazy Bones!” This is a mixed meter piece – the first section is in 4/4 time where students are singing “Wake up you Lazy Bones and go and fetch the cattle,” then it switches to 3/4 time as the students are “falling back to sleep.” Students feel the change in meter by changing their movements while singing. After the end of the song, when they are “asleep,” the teacher calls out, “Wake up you lazy bones!” to start the song again. “
