Kindergartners learned our “hello” song today in music! After we learned the song, students sang it to one another to welcome each other to music class! We also learned a funny song called “Lazy Bones!” This is a mixed meter piece – the first section is in 4/4 time where students are singing “Wake up you Lazy Bones and go and fetch the cattle,” then it switches to 3/4 time as the students are “falling back to sleep.” Students feel the change in meter by changing their movements while singing.
