A Day Outdoors as Native Americans
Posted by Janice ShannonWe are learning about Native Americans in class so one day last week we played and set up a tepee in the woods behind the school. While we were out there we listened to the sounds, smelled the leaves, collected firewood, jumped over logs and waited for a deer to come by. It was a little chilly but we got very warm in our tepee when we covered ourselves with animal skins (an old mink, of course). We changed our names for the next two weeks to Hopping Rabbit, Soaring Eagle, Red Deer, Walking Horse and Running Fox.
