“A Rig a Jig Jig and Away We Go!”
Posted by Megan KirkKindergartners are being introduced to their first line dance in music class! Dance is an integral part of the performing arts curriculum and helps students to feel the music in their bodies. First, students learned the song “A Rig a Jig Jig” as I demonstrated the basic dance moves we would be doing by performing these steps with different students. After they were able to do the steps with me, we paired up and made two straight lines – and the fun really began! On the part of the song “and away we go,” students created a tunnel with their partners, and the two students at the end of the line came through to the other side!
