A Visit to the Maritime Aquarium
Posted by Carlene GordonThird and fourth graders recently traveled to the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk for a fun and educational day. We began in the Maritime Aquarium lab discovering unique inter-tidal life forms. Students investigated and identified decorator crabs, mussels, several species of snails and hermit crabs. Following the laboratory experience, third and fourth graders enjoyed exploring the rest of the aquarium, including the feeding demonstration of harbor seals, African aquatic life and the Touch-a-Stingray exhibit. Students learned about adaptations, habitat preservation and conservation both close to home and around the world. Thank you to all our chaperones for making this such a successful trip.
