While the rest of Unquowa was finishing up their last day of ERBs, the 8th grade set out at 8:30am sharp for an adventure at the Audubon Society in Fairfield. Upon arrival, the students reviewed the sanctuaries rules and then we set out for our morning journey. Along our travels we saw a variety of birds such as the Mallard. Students also had the opportunities to explore landscapes such as the marsh lands, ponds and rolling meadows, to even rundown ruins of an old building, and a shelter that was built by past travellers! Our gators had no limits as we trekked for a total of 3.5 miles, and discussed dozens of species in only 1 hour. What an exhilarating way for our 8th graders to start their morning!
