Bean Biodiversity.
Posted by Joshua Bartosiewicz- Identifying species abundance!
In science the seventh graders have been learning about biodiversity on our planet. In order to understand the concepts of individuals, population, community and species abundance, we have conducted a lab using various types of beans which represented different species of bees. Students needed to count the number of members of each species and calculate the species abundance. In the end, students were able to demonstrate their knowledge on the subject and had a great time conducting the lab.
