Boys White Battles Early this Season!
Posted by Lloyd MitchellBoys’ White soccer has started out the season with some stiff competition. Starting on the road, we battled a tough Ridgefield Academy squad who staked an early 3-0 lead. Despite several close calls, we managed to only tally one goal and lost by a score of 4-1. Our second game of the season was at home against a feisty squad from St. Luke’s. This proved to be a high scoring contest with both teams trading goals back and forth. St. Luke’s offense proved to be too much for our defense though and they pulled away at the end of the game for a score of 6-3.
Our most recent home game against Montessori was one of the best played games of the season for the Boys’ White. The team managed to jump out to an early 1-0 lead on a great pass to our strikers. Montessori managed to even the score at 1-1 on a perfectly placed shot over seventh grade keeper, Will. From here, the squad picked up the pace of the game tallying 4 goals to take a 5-1 victory over Montessori. The highlight of the game came on a perfectly placed cross by seventh grader, Lisi that found the foot of sixth grader, Max who was in perfect position to finish the play. Congrats to the team for the victory and a special thanks to the Girls’ White squad who has lent their support filling in when we needed them in these first three games!
