Our 8th grade students headed into New York City to see The Great Gatsby at The Broadway Theatre, tying into their Humanities curriculum and exploring the central question: “To whom does the American Dream belong?” This Tony Award-winning musical provided a fun and thought-provoking experience, sparking conversations about materialism, wealth inequality, and identity. Before the show, they enjoyed lunch at John’s Pizzeria of Times Square, then took a short walk to the theater for a truly memorable experience!
