Celebrating Unquowa and Sharon Lauer
Posted by Unquowa Parents AssociationSaturday, May 2 was the annual Celebrate Unquowa Gala and Auction, held at the Fairfield Museum and History Center. The evening offered parents many opportunities to bid on various items such as classroom projects created by their children, hard to get sporting tickets and the perhaps the most coveted auction item of all – your very own reserved parking space in the Unquowa lot. But the evening would not be complete without a special tribute to Sharon Lauer honoring her first ten years as Head of School at Unquowa. The tribute began with heartfelt remarks from UPA President Marianna Erenhouse and culminated with a short video starring children from all grades going about their usual activities to the tune of “When I Grow Up,” from the Broadway production of “Matilda.” It was one of those moments that reminded parents why they chose Unquowa and just how grateful we are to have Ms. Lauer at our school. A huge thank you to the Auction Committee and many volunteers who made this evening possible.
