Creative Connections
Posted by Debbie LeidleinA new season of the Artlink program is upon us. During the month of November the seventh grade students have created drawings and paintings which depict an element of their culture that they would like to share with students in our partner schools. This year’s theme is entitled “Picture the Moment” and asked students, in an age of selfies, to leave the technology behind and depict themselves engaged in a specific moment in their lives to share. We will be sending our artwork to our partner schools in Ryazan, Russia and Chennai, India and, in return, they will be sending us similar pictures of the moment. We will be able to study each other’s pictures and then will have the opportunity to video chat in the spring. This experience is always an eye-opener for students that, even though we have some differences, our cultures really are similar.
