Creative Connections and Unquowa
Posted by Debbie LeidleinOnce again, our seventh grade class will participate in our cultural exchange program with Creative Connections. The program allows students to reflect on their own cultural values, and then compare them as they learn about the cultural beliefs of another country. In the past we have exchanged pictures with schools in Russia, The Gambia and Jordan. This year we will be exchanging pictures with a school in Chennai, India and Amman, Jordan. The project will begin with students drawing pictures to depict an important aspect of our culture and this year’s theme is “Food for Thought.”
In the spring, we will be able to Skype with our partner classes and students will be able to ask and answer questions regarding their pictures. It is a wonderful experience and the students are looking forward to it. The program will culminate with the International Children’s Art Exhibit.
