On this (very) warm Fall day, our 8th graders made their way outside to build roller coasters in science class. The air was vibrating with excitement as each team was off to the races to build their favorite designs! This lab was perfect because 8th grade had just finished learning about energy types, energy transfer and energy transformation. Even if a group had a successful design, their enthusiasm couldn’t keep them from building multiple tracks! By the end of science class, not only did the 8th graders exercise their engineer skills, but they refined their knowledge on energy transfer and transformation too!
