Unquowa’s sixth-eighth grade drama and chorus students are hard at work rehearsing this year’s musical, Seussical Jr! The show, which is the culmination of our annual musical theatre unit, will be presented later this spring and we can’t wait for our audience to be captivated by this colorful, heartwarming piece. Based on the works of Dr. Seuss, Seussical weaves many of Seuss’s beloved books and characters together with great music, staging, and storytelling. The students have already gotten a “crash course” in musical theatre history as part of this performing arts project, and throughout the rehearsal process we will also cover topics such as theatrical design, musical theatre writing, and character analysis.
