Kindergarteners enjoyed playing in a drumming circle in music class. First, I was in the center as students had to follow my motions to know what to play on their drums. Next each student took at turn leading the circle. There was no talking aloud – we had to only use our bodies to guide the drumming. It was a great way to start learning how to lead an ensemble as well as how to be a good ensemble member!
