Fit for the National Portrait Gallery
Posted by Krissy PondenThe eighth graders have been delving into the art of portraiture with a project focused on our “ancestors.” They each chose an image of a person from the past and sketched first in pencil. They then outlined in silver and gold markers to give an illuminated look, and then painted carefully with tempera. The diversity of the ancestors they chose is fascinating, and how fun to imagine our students related to princesses, warriors, and even Abraham Lincoln!
