Gator Gravy on the Menu
Posted by Jessica WoodIt’s been a very busy few weeks already for us here in the kitchen. Our school year started in the month of August as we began preparing for the return of all the faculty, staff, and of course, the students. As many of you know, a large part of our foundation is the making and canning of our heirloom tomato sauce, otherwise known as the “Gator Gravy”. We use hundreds of pounds of local tomatoes for our gravy which we use throughout the school year in sauces and soups.
This year we have made a record amount of Gator Gravy, which we anticipate will see us through the whole school year. There were a number of factors which enabled us to achieve such a prodigious tally, none more important than the dedication and hard work of our new Resident Chef Jessica Wood. We gladly welcome her into the fold. So, welcome back to all. Come on by the kitchen and see what’s cooking.
