National Geographic Bee
Posted by Debbie LeidleinAt the end of January, Unquowa held our annual National Geographic Bee. This year’s participants included fifth graders Jack and CC, sixth graders Sneha and Will, seventh graders Aaron and Drew, and eighth graders Charlotte and Mira. Each of these students won their respective grade competitions in order to be eligible to compete at the school wide level. After seven intense rounds, the top three contestants were identified when CC narrowly eked out Aaron in a tiebreaker for third place. It was then down to the final two contestants, Drew and Sneha. In the final round, each student was asked three questions, and the student who answered the most correctly was declared the school champion. While Drew answered 1 of 3 correctly, Sneha was able to answer 2 of 3 correctly, making her the school champion. Sneha subsequently took the test in order to qualify for the state level at the beginning of this month and we anxiously await the results. Good Luck, Sneha!
