For our holiday party, we reenacted the book Night Tree by Eve Bunting. In the story a family hikes into the woods to find “their” tree. They decorate it every winter season with food for animals, sing songs together and share hot cocoa before going home.With the help of our room mothers, flashlights in hand, the PreK- 4 class hiked in the woods, found an evergreen tree and decorated it with food for the birds. After hanging our handmade bird feeders we sat on a blanket, sang and enjoyed hot chocolate! It was a fun way to help the birds in winter and enjoy a beautiful cold day before our winter break.
