The Upper School Mandarin students recently enjoyed a Chinese food tasting event in Mandarin class. The food menu was listed on the whiteboard for students to reference. Some of the food names students had learned of in the past, and some of the names are new this year. However, that didn’t stop the students from trying their speaking skills. Each of them had to order the food they would like and spoke in Mandarin. After they tried everything, they either had to describe it by using adjectives or express which one they liked and disliked, as well as their favorite ones in Mandarin. Some of them expressed they wanted to eat them all. I loved to see everyone’s smiles and satisfaction on their faces.
