Is that a Pizza? A bread bakery? Oh, a Volcano.
Posted by Craig KnebelThe 6th grade made models of volcanoes to understand the differences between shield, cone, and composite types. To construct the volcanoes we used a very salty dough recipe. Volcano models had to be accurate, so students put lava streams only on shield and composite volcanoes. We blew up the shield with a slow yellow baking soda vinegar substance, the cone with a bubbly froth from hydrogen peroxide and yeast, and the composite with a Mentos fountain.
