Karate Kicks Off!
Posted by Katie BrennaMaster Brenna is excited to see a robust group of both new and familiar faces this fall season for karate. Students have been practicing their front punches, thrust punches, tiger claws, hammer strikes, front kicks, back kicks and side kicks. Additionally, students are mastering the eight point blocking system. After some practice, it’s time to put these skills to the test! Students stand on guard in a circle as Master Brenna speeds around the circle coming at them with a foam blocker. Students block the hits using one of the eight blocks that they have learned. You’ve got to move swiftly if you don’t want to be bonked with the foam blocker! Another round involves the students targeting a foam pad in mid-air with a strike before it hits the ground. Focus and agility are key in these rapid drills!
