Las ruedas del autobus van dando vueltas
Posted by Jamie BartelsPreK-4 has been singing and speaking about vehicles and experimenting with wheel shapes in Spanish!
We have been singing the first verse of The Wheels On The Bus:
Las ruedas del autobús van dando vueltas
dando vueltas
dando vueltas
Las ruedas del autobús van dando vueltas
por la ciudad (beep beep!)
We have also been using a puzzle of an autobús with las ruedas (the wheels), las puertas (the doors) and las ventanas (the windows).
To experiment with wheel shapes, first we charted who thought different shapes would go around (sí da vueltas) or not (no da vueltas). Then we took turns rolling the different shapes and revising our hypotheses!
- The autobús itself goes in first!
- The roof of the autobús being put in.
- In goes una ventana.
- Next piece: ¡otra ventana!
- In go the puertas of the autobús.
- Finishing up the autobús puzzle.
- Children chart their hypothesis – ¡sí da vueltas! or ¡no da vueltas!
- Our finished chart — who thinks the shape ¡sí da vueltas! or ¡no da vueltas!
- The octágono ¡sí da vueltas!
