Monet in January!
Posted by Alice DesGrangesThe Pre-K class had a rare opportunity to paint in “Plein air” on a beautiful January day. The class observed “The Japanese Footbridge”, a painting by Claude Monet, and learned how he became the father of impressionism. Since it is January, and the garden is put to bed, the class closed their eyes and memorized the beautiful flowers and plants they had seen in the painting. We grabbed our brushes and paints and headed out to Mrs. Shannon’s garden on the Unquowa grounds. We had a wonderful time sitting around the Unquowa footbridge and painting our impressions of Monet’s gardens.
