Monet Inspired Picnic
Posted by Janice ShannonDid you know that Claude Monet started eating outside on his own property in Giverney, France even when most French people didn’t think it was very proper to eat outside? We had a beautiful day for our own French picnic! In keeping with what is now a PreK-3 tradition at Unquowa, we walked over to a neighbor’s house with a beautiful yard, wearing our vintage clothes and large brimmed hats. We set up our easels and painted a picture of the Japanese bridge on a canvas prepped and given to us by the eighth grade class. Then we spread out our picnic blanket and enjoyed some grape juice and fresh cheese with baguette bread and grapes.
Thank you Claude for inspiring our picnic and our art!
