Narrative Writing Share
Posted by Wendy KerrThis fall third grade students worked hard to create narrative writing pieces. They began by brainstorming people and places that matter to them and choosing one of these true stories to write about. Students learned about how to hook their reader with an interesting opening and how to keep their reader involved through the use of dialogue, details and using the senses to describe small moments within the story. After writing multiple drafts and editing, the students published their work. To mark the occasion, we gathered together as a class around a mock fireplace to share our stories with one another. Third graders were incredibly supportive of their classmates’ writing and offered thoughtful and specific feedback to their peers. Bravo!
