“Night at the Museum” in Drama Class
Posted by Alyson CahillDrama class is off to a great start with Kindergarten students. Lately, Kindergarteners particularly love an activity we call “Night at the Museum” (or simply, “Museum,” for short). With myself in role as the museum’s night guard, the students all turn into an animal or creature. When I turn on my flashlight, they freeze and remain very still! They hold their pose while the museum guard walks through the space, inspecting all the animals when the museum is closed for the night. However, when the museum guard turns her back, they are allowed to move freely around the space until she turns around again to see them. In the picture shown here, they are creatures at the “Bird Museum.” It is a great exercise in controlling our bodies and using our imaginations!
