Our CT Birds
Posted by Janice ShannonWe learned about three different types of birds that live in our neighborhood – the American Robin, Red Cardinal and the Blue Jay are the ones we like. One eats worms while the other two eat seeds. Mrs. Curran, our environmental science teacher, came to our room and taught us about the sounds each bird makes, what their nests looked like and the color of their eggs. We made bird feeders to put in our tree at home so we can watch them eat and fly. At the end of the lesson, we walked out to our bird sanctuary and put cracked corn on the ground. Now we can watch from our classroom and observe which birds like the corn.
Tomorrow we will be making nests out of chocolate and coconut and then eating them – what a treat!
