Owl Pellets
Posted by Cameron Ross-MacCormackAunt Kristin, Mrs. Barbuto’s sister, is a high school science teacher and she came to visit. She brought guides for each child and a real owl pellet for each as well. Children were elated as they eagerly and carefully broke apart each pellet to discover what the owl had been eating. Using forks and toothpicks second graders picked through and found a wide array of bones and textures of fur. We found skulls, teeth, ribs and more!
