Pablo Neruda and the Joy of Odes
Posted by Eric SnowAs 7th Graders are undertaking a deep dive into the history and literature of Chile, we’ve taken note of one of the country’s most famous poets: Pablo Neruda.
Neruda is well-known for his historical poems as well as his numerous odes, and, accordingly, 7th Graders were tasked with creating their own odes about things they cherish. Students had a blast writing both thoughtful, introspective poems as well as over-the-top declarations of love to everyday objects. And, of course, we shared them together!
